Top Speed

As advertised, the Xiaomi M365 speed has a top rate of 25 kph. In other reviews, it can reach up to 26 kph, when ridden in the right conditions. Meanwhile, using the cruise control on the e-scooter makes the top speed 18 kph.

Some riders can reportedly increase the speed of their Xiaomi M365 by overwriting the e-scooter’s firmware. Modifying the firmware can increase the scooter speed up to 32 kph. However, riders should know that modifying an e-scooter’s firmware will void the scooter or part’s warranty and could damage the scooter.

Max Range

The Xiaomi M365 electric scooter offers one of the longer ranges in its category. Most scooters have a 25-km max range, but the M365 offers 5 km more than that. It’s a pretty decent range that can get you back and forth to a nearby coffee shop or train station for a couple of days in a week.

The Xiaomi M365 battery features a 280Wh battery capacity and has a charging time of up to 5 hours. It’s not the highest battery capacity in its category, but it is enough to give the e-scooter a 30-km max range.

The Xiaomi scooter has gained recognition for its portability. After all, it is one of the lightest foldable electric scooters in the market, weighing only 12.5 kg, and it has a three-step folding design that makes the scooter compact and easy to carry. In fact, it’s light and compact enough to take up and down a flight of stairs.

However, one downside to its design is the fact that the handlebars can’t be folded when the scooter is folded. If you’re not careful the handlebars could bump into people or items when carrying it in public.

Dashboard and Controls

The Xiaomi Mi M365’s cockpit seems well thought out. It does not only look clean, minimalistic, and pleasant to look at but also very practical and easy to use. On the right handlebar, you get a thumb throttle. On the left you get a handbrake, controlling the front regenerative brake and the rear disc brake. Putting your hands on the handlebar and using the controls feel very natural that even beginners will find it easy to ride this e-scooter.

The scooter also features a small display that shows the battery life, and one button for the power, light, and riding mode. However, despite the limited features on the display, riders can view other scooter details on their phone via the Xiaomi app or other third-party app. Using the app, the riders can also enable or disable cruise control and adjust the braking power.

The Xiaomi scooter features 8.5-inch pneumatic tyres, which offer enough cushion for rougher rides and traction for slippery paths. The best thing about pneumatic tyres is that it helps reduce the bump and rattling while riding, making it more comfortable for the riders. Unfortunately, one downside to using this type of tyre is that it’s prone to punctures. Although pneumatic tyres are generally durable, they can still get punctured, especially when driven in rocky paths.

The Xiaomi M365 features a double braking system with a front regenerative brake and a rear disc brake. Having two kinds of brakes not only increases your safety but also allows you to choose the right type of brake when stopping. Disc brakes provide a stronger braking power, so it's perfect to use when you need to stop urgently.

Ride Quality

Riding the Xiaomi M365 electric scooter gives the best possible comfort on the road. As previously mentioned, the tyres help cushion the ride, minimising the bums and rattling while riding.

Besides this, the acceleration is smooth enough that it doesn’t make you lean back, and the braking power is solid without propelling the rider forward. Moreover, the controls are intuitive, so it’s very easy and natural to use.

Unfortunately, there’s no suspension, so it’s not suitable for rough roads or hill climbs. However, it doesn’t take away the fact that the Xiaomi M365 offers a smooth and comfortable riding experience.
